On 24th February 2016 HRH The Princess Royal
paid a visit to the Wormwood Scrubs Branch of the Pony Club.
44 members carried out several emergency drills in front of HRH and Pony Club officials. These included - a stable yard evacuation and putting out a small fire, a CPR and defibrillation demonstration, a riding accident scenario including fractures and an injury to a pony. The drills ended with a Stop, Drop, Roll demonstration where 44 members plus Martin Clunes showed the visitors what to do if your clothes catch on fire.
The Princess then presented certificates & badges. After which everyone was invited to the Olympia Hilton Hotel tea party which was held in the indoor arena.
Congratulations to the WSPC Junior team for winning 2017 Area 12 H&PC competition & for qualifying for the National Championships in the Horse & Pony Care competition. This is the forth year running that the WSPC team have won. Well done.

24th February 2016 Royal Visit to watch Pony Club Fire Drill, First Aid and CPR demonstrations
Congratulations to Betsy and Imaan for designing the Stable Yard Fire Safety and First Aid posters that were presented to the Princess Royal
Over 40 members took part in a Pony Club Fire & First Aid Display. HRH The Princess Royal was amongst the guests. Martin Clunes joined in the 'Stop, Drop, Roll' exercise.

PONY CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
Well done to our team who did so well at this year's championships. Everyone had such great fun.
Jemima Palmer receives the Jack Petchey award for her contribution as a team member in the Pony Club area 12 Horse & Pony Care competition. The team won & have now qualified to go to the National Championships in August.

We are very proud that Ailbhe McCormack received the Pony Club Ambassadors Award at the National Championships 2013
She proudly received this award for her long term commitment to the Pony Club at Wormwood Scrubs. Ailbhe is now organising Pony Club activities at WSPC and is involved in training the children for competitions. Ailbhe will be giving a presentation at the 2014 Pony Club Conference 5th March Epsom Race Course.
Well done to our Pony Club Ambassador Ailbhe who gave an excellent talk at the Pony Club 85th Anniversary Conference.

Well done to all the children & young people who took part in the competition. A special well done to the WSPC team Jemima, Esme & Meme who won the junior competition and have now qualified for the National Championships in August.
Blue Cross Horse & Pony Care Competition
Welfare of the pony is paramount to The Pony Club, this competition allows the Members to demonstrate their knowledge and practical horsemanship.
