  WSPC is a registered  charity and a non profit making organisation. The charity number is 1045045

There is a Board of Trustees, a Fund Raising Committee and a small team of dedicated staff plus a large number of enthusiastic volunteers.

The Centre is an inner city community riding school for  children and young people, many of whom have learning difficulties and physical
  disabilities. The children, parents and local people are encouraged to actively get involved by offering help with fund raising or joining the volunteering programmes that are on over.






The Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre is a  community riding school based near White City..In 2015 the centre  proudly received the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service. This is the highest award that a voluntary group can receive in the UK.

The Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre is a group member of the Riding for the Disabled Society. RDA training days are held at the centre. The staff are highly qualified and recognised for their skills and many years of experience of working with disabled children.

The Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre is home to the Wormwood Scrubs Pony Club Branch.  Pony Club UK is the largest equestrian youth organisation in the world. All activities are taught and run to the highest of standards.

The Loriners' Crest hangs with pride and the stable yard at Wormwood Scrubs is called the Loriners' Yard. The Worshipful Company of Loriners' date back to 1261 and are bit and spur makers.    . In September 2014 Sister Mary-Joy was made an Honorary Loriner of the Company.

VOLUNTEERING
Take 4 easy steps to become a volunteer at WSPC

Step One
and request a volunteer application form

Step Two
2. Phone 020 8740 0573 between 8am -12pm confirming that you will be attending the next introduction for volunteers. Please give your name and a contact tel. no.

Step Three
3. Introduction to becoming a volunteer sessions are held on the last Saturday of the month for Saturday volunteers and the last Tuesday of the month for weekday volunteers.  The sessions are not held during the school holidays.

Step Four
4. When you come you are asked to arrive no later than 9am and bring with you your completed volunteer application form, 2 references and 2 forms of identification. The introduction session will last no longer than 2 hours but if appropriate you are welcome to stay longer to watch the riding activities.

At the present we are only taking volunteers on
Tuesday - Saturday between 7am - 3pm

We do not take child volunteers unless they are on a
DoE programme or
YELA programme



Location and Contact
The Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre is situated on
Wormwood Scrubs Park. Unfortunately there is no post code for the park. The nearest post code is W12 0HR
Please do not try to find us from the park entrance along the  Du Cane Road near the Hammersmith Hospital and the prison.
You need to be on Scrubs Lane W12. Look out for Burlington Danes School as it is very close to the entrance onto Wormwood Scrubs Park.  Near the school there are some flats called Woodmans Mews Flats.
Turn down just past the flats onto the park lane. This lane leads straight down to the Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre. The centre is on the right hand side at the bottom of the lane. 
You can park your car outside the gate.
White City is the nearest tube station.
Nos. 7, 70 and 220 buses all stop near the centre.
